Women now regularly run for the highest offices in the land, BUT turn the channel and we’re bombarded with Teen Moms and Real Housewives. Women can have any career they want, BUT they still have to contend with the tick tick tock of their biological clocks when it comes to their love lives. Of course, these days women can also choose not to have children at all, BUT will they really ever be truly fulfilled if they don’t? We know what we’re supposed to do if a guy turns out to be “not that into you,” BUT what if he is? What do we really mean when we start a sentence with the disclaimers, “I’m not a feminist BUT…” or “I am 100% a feminist BUT…”

With The Big Feminist BUT, we’ve put together a first rate collection of comics that address a wide spectrum of great big BUTS! We started a conversation, and now we need your help to keep it going.

We asked some of the most talented ladies (and gentlemen) working in comics and animation today, along with some of the smartest writers we know to "but" into the heated conversation about the much more level but still contradictory playing field both sexes are struggling to find their footing on today. By using the unique storytelling power of comics to discuss hot-button issues in a fun, fresh and engaging way, our contributors’ very graphic tales will entertain, move and inform readers about everything from modern families and lifestyles to significant historical events and ideas alongside current social trends.
